OSBBC annual general meeting

March 8, 2009
8:15 amto3:30 pm

PLEASE NOTE DAYLIGHT SAVINGS TIME CHANGE - If you don’t set your clock forward one hour you’ll be an hour late to this event.

We hope that you’ll be able to attend this year’s AGM, being held at Camp Kawartha, just north of Lakefield, on Sunday, March 8th. This is a great opportunity to meet straw homeowners, professionals in the field, and owner/builders. The OSBBC welcomes new members to the AGM, but they won’t be able to vote at this meeting.

No registration is required, just show up. However if you come to hear the talks we ask that you join as a member to help support our work and offset the cost of running the event.

If you decide to attend for the entire day, please bring your own lunch. Refreshments & snacks will be served at scheduled breaks, but no meals will be provided. There aren’t any restaurants nearby, so it is best to come prepared. Please note that the camp is a NUT FREE facility, and we have to abide strictly by that policy.

For directions to Camp Kawartha follow this link: http://www.campkawartha.ca/about/directions.htm

Sorry I can not make it, I just wrote a letter to a friend in the home design & marketing business about the possibility of (need for) a green revolution, will this technology be viable for suburban applications?

Yes, straw bale construction techniques can be used in many building types and locations, and could be brought into production housing with adequate training for all trades on the similarities and differences between conventional stick frame and straw bale construction.

Hello,
I am an artist interested in outdoor living. I would like to attend an annual strawbale association meeting and I am looking for a ride from Toronto, since i do not have a car.Maybe someone who is planning to attend the meeting has a free place?
